Andrea Dalton

Licentiate Teaching Diploma ATOD, Examiner ATOD, Life Member ATOD, Dip Teaching Education Primary

Andrea has had a varied career as a dance teacher and Examiner. Formerly a primary school teacher, she brings to the dance studio organizational techniques and experience that enables the school to function smoothly and efficiently. Her 30 years of dance teaching experience and management of Dance Dynamics enables students and her fellow staff members to gain much form her extensive knowledge.

Andrea has travelled extensively within the dance industry- examining in Hong Kong, Singapore and throughout Australia for the past 15 years. She has taken seminars and workshops for teachers and students in Indonesia, China (both Canton and Beijing Dance Academys), Hong Kong and Singapore as well as in Australia. Her knowledge of syllabi and technical aspects of dance have been called upon many times to assist training teachers and colleagues.

Students of Dance Dynamics have travelled with Andrea to Hong Kong (performing in the Hong Kong Dance Expo) and to Japan as a cross cultural exchange.

Andrea has been an integral member of core committees for ATOD that have developed syllabi in preschool dance and teacher education. As a member of the Australian Teachers of Dancing, Andrea was a National Board member for 11years and was the National President for 7 of those years up to 2006.

In 2009, Andrea received a Sunshine Coast Australia Day Award for service to the community in Cultural development, a Rotary Award for Vocational Excellence and Life Membership with the Australian Teachers of Dancing.

Heidi Dalton

Heidi commenced her dance training at Dance Dynamics at the age of two and is still an active dancer with the advanced team. Since graduating from university with both a Bachelor of Arts (communication) and a Graduate Diploma in Education (secondary), Heidi has worked at Immanuel Lutheran College in Maroochydore, originally employed to develop the Dance program which she has successfully done to year 12 level and also as an English secondary school teacher. This is the College where Heidi had her own education and held the school captaincy in 2000.

Heidi has taken all levels of teacher’s examinations with the Australian Teachers of Dancing Ltd (ATOD) including the final and prestigious Licentiate Teachers Diploma in 2010. She has added to her studies by completing dance courses through Queensland College of Technology (QUT), which boasts an outstanding Dance education program. As part of her professional development, Heidi has travelled extensively and taken classes at Pineapple studios in London, Millennium studios in Los Angeles as well as performing opportunities as a dancer in travelling teams for both Dance Dynamics and ATOD to Japan and Hong Kong. Her travels have taken her also to Singapore where she was employed by ATOD as a teacher to represent them at the Singapore dance Camp.

Heidi brings an experienced understanding of the technical aspects of dance and performance in each genre as well as up to date, very expressive and creative choreography to Dance Dynamics. Her studies in education along with her teaching experience in the current system of both dance and education allow her to be a unique and valuable staff member.

Jill Koltermann

Jill started dancing at the age of three with Andrea Dalton and has been an active member for over 22 years. During this time she has completed her advanced exams in all ATOD genres of Tap, Jazz and Classical Ballet. Jill also performed in both solo and group events at Sunshine Coast, Redcliffe and Bundaberg Eisteddfods. She has also represented Queensland at the Australasian ATOD scholarships in Tap and Jazz, winning the National Intermediate Tap in 2000.

Jill left Dance Dynamics briefly to complete a Bachelor of Exercise Science and Master of Physiotherapy at Griffith University on the Gold Coast, graduating in August of 2008. She returned to the Sunshine Coast soon after where she took up a position as a physiotherapist at Nambour Hospital and physiotherapist at Sportscare- Minyama where she caters for the students of the Dance school along with the other staff at Sportscare. Jill returned to Dance Dynamics to teach mainly tap and to dance with the senior team once again.

In 2011 Jill commenced a Stretch and Strengthening class for Dance Dynamics students utilizing her skills as a trained physiotherapist. Jill is part of the team at Sportscare who assess students prior to them working en pointe in classical ballet.

Elizabeth Koltermann

Liz began dancing at Dance Dynamics from age 3, enrolling in Jazz, Tap and Ballet. She later gained her ATOD Junior Jazz Teacher’s Certificate. Liz was awarded first place in the Intermediate and Senior State Scholarships in 2003, 2004. After finishing high school, Liz went to Townsville to complete her Bachelor of Photography and is now on the coast operating her own business in photography and to teach at Dance Dynamics. Whilst in Townsville, Lizzie also taught dance at a prominent city dance studio.

Lizzie became the dance school photographer for “Big City Lights” in 2009 and continues to be the dance school’s photographer for all events.

Lizzie will be teaching in each genre of classes at Dance Dynamics.

Anna Chipperfield

Associate Teacher with ATOD, Bachelor of Arts (Leisure Management), Diploma of Business.

Anna started dancing at the age of 5 in classical ballet and then quickly discovered ballroom dancing around 7 years of age.
Anna has danced both competitively and completed examinations in all styles of ballroom dancing and has been fortunate to train and teach with some of the best ballroom dance coaches in Australia.

Anna commenced dancing with Andrea Dalton in 1987, when her family moved to the Sunshine Coast. Anna spent years at Dance Dynamics heavily involved in majority of genre’s, performance, exams and teaching, completing her Associate Teacher qualifications in Jazz Ballet in 1990. Dance Dynamics was definitely Anna’s ‘second home’!

A couple of years following, Anna moved to Brisbane to complete a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Leisure Management, specialising in Facility and Arts Management.

After working in Brisbane in dance, childcare and recreation, Anna travelled to the UK in 1999 to pursue her career in business management. After 4 years in the UK specialising in operations, human resources and meeting her husband, Phil, they move to Dubai to live and work for 2 years. Along the way Anna continued to dance and take lessons in London and Dubai. Anna and Phil returned to Australia in 2005.

After working in senior management for 5 years with large National companies, Anna and Phil made the sea change and moved back to the Sunshine Coast. Anna is also an Executive Coach, specialising in hr management and leadership and also owns property maintenance company, ‘Handy Hunks’.

Anna is very excited to be back at Dance Dynamics, teaching social ballroom, wedding dance and jazz classes.

Brydie Taylor

As a dance student who has travelled for 12 years from Bribie Island to Marochydore to study with Dance Dynamics, Brydie has shown her loyalty and her capacity as an active team member and teacher. Brydie is currently enrolled in the Certificate 3 in Community Recreation and the ATOD teacher’s course. She has volunteered as an assistant at many events for ATOD on the Sunshine Coast and for Dance Dynamics. Brydie has been teaching at the school since 2009 and majors in Hip Hop in which she is an outstanding performer and choreographer. Brydie has exam completed her Advanced Tap and Intermediate Jazz exams as well as achieving a 92/100 in hip-hop Advance 1. She was lucky enough to get the opportunity to attend hip-hop workshops run by American choreographers Tabitha and Napoleon and in 2007 as well as participate in weekly classes at her high school with So You Think You Can Dance winner Jack Chambers as her teacher.

Brydie graduated from St Columbans College in 2008 where she was captain of the school dance troupe and was voted “Seniors Senior” by her peers. Brydie looks forward to completing her Junior Teachers and Associates Teachers course and continuing her personal development through Dance Dynamics.
