Rules and Guidelines for Students & Parents
Children & Young People have the right at Dance Dynamics to:
- feel safe
- be listened to
- at times, be involved in decisions that affect them
- have their cultural values respected
- have their best interests considered
Children & Young People at Dance Dynamics should:
- show respect for other children, young people and adults
- keep themselves safe
- report inappropriate behaviour, unsafe situations and harm
Dance Dynamics supports the Child Protection Policy and would have expectations of parents and carers to support this policy.
General rules:
- Collection time of students after classes must be adhered to unless other arrangements have been made prior. Also staff will not be expected to wait for students after classes are finished in the evenings and on Saturdays/ extra rehearsals
- Students are not to be dropped at class earlier than a reasonable time span in order to prepare for the class. (15 minutes max) unless otherwise noted to staff
- Students must not leave the dance school building unless they see their parents/ carer in the collection/ parking area and or the parent comes to the door of the studio building
- There is to be NO playing or running or waiting in the car park, or climbing on or over studio walls inside and out.
- Respect for class members must be maintained by ensuring quiet in the hallways, waiting areas etc.
- There is to be no waiting by parents/ siblings/ visitors or students in the toilet block. This is mainly for safety and child protection reasons
- Food scraps/rubbish must be placed in the bin
- Students are to bring their own drink bottle of water to class, no sharing of cups etc and a hand towel for the face
- Lost property will be taken away on the last Saturday of each month. Please check it in the waiting room regularly
The staff is well trained/informed and is there to assist in the wellbeing of your child in the classroom and the inside environs of the dance school. The decisions they make are to be respected by students and parents
