Syllabus classes are directed by the Australian Teachers of Dancing Ltd (ATOD) syllabi
This class is specifically aimed at preschool age children from ages 3-5 years. Classes contain structured and non- structured activities developing basic concepts of dance in ballet and jazz, listening skills, group work, gross motor skills and musicality. Activities are varied and fun based. Assessments can be taken at this level if required.
Like the Mini Movers class, this is based on gross motor skill development in a fun and caring environment. The program is akin to the mini movers class. Assessments can be taken at this level if required.
This is designed for Prep age children and includes skill development in the genre of ballet and jazz. Basic ballet positions and foundation steps will be taught as well as basic jazz combinations and dance structure. This is done in a fun and caring environment so as to encourage the love of dance and discourage boredom and constant repetition. Examinations in both ballet and jazz will be offered to those who wish to partake.
This is a ballet class designed for beginner ballet students aged 6-7 and in Years 1 and 2 at school. Students do not require previous experience in ballet technique to take this class. Examinations will be offered if required.
Based on developing hip hop dance skills, this class works to modern music and basic hip hop feet, arms, floor work and coordination skills. Aimed at the 5-7 year age group this is a beginners level.
Jazz skills are developed in this class for Year 1 and Year 2 beginner students. Musicality and rhythm are accented in the program and fun and fitness with moves and dance to popular songs.
A combination of hip -hop and street jazz, the class develops dance skills and fitness, coordination, flexibility and appreciation for dance. The class caters for once a week dance students who do not wish to study examination work. Ages 10-13 years. No previous experience required.
Year 2 and Year 3 jazz students are catered for in this class. Year 2 students need to have previous dance experience. The program develops skills in the ATOD Jazz Moves syllabus at Level 2. Examinations are available in this level for jazz.
This class encompasses skill development at the ATOD Bronze medal Jazz level for students aged 9-11 years. Examinations can be taken if students wish to do so. This is a once a week class. Dance experience would be advantageous.
ATOD Bronze star Jazz Moves syllabus work is covered in this once a week jazz class – ages 10-12 years. Experience is required. Examinations can be taken at this level.
Required to attend 2 lessons per week.
Based on the skills of the Silver Star ATOD Jazz Moves syllabus his program is geared at 12-13 year olds who have had dance experience or older students who have none or limited dance experience. Examinations can be taken at this level.
Gold Medal Jazz Moves syllabus skills are studied at this level for experienced students aged 13-15 years. Leaps, turns, floor work and flexibility skills are well structured into this program. Examinations can be taken at this level.
For students aged 14-16 years this class develops on the basic jazz skills of the Gold Medal and introduces triple turns, extensive jumps and flexibility work. The level studied is the ATOD Gold Star Jazz Moves. Student creativity is developed as elements of choreography are studied for students to create their own work.
This level is for experienced dancers aged 14-18 years. It encompasses the Elementary examination level of jazz and develops the basic structures of jumps, turns, floor work and combinations. Heel work also is commenced at this level.
This is an open jazz class held once per week for all senior dancers. There is no structured syllabus work studied but overall jazz dance skills and performance work. Experience is required. Examinations will not be offered in this open style class.
Suited to students studying syllabus work at the Advanced level. Examinations may be taken at this level. This will be a once per week class and students who take this class are advised to also take the Open Jazz class to maintain strength, stamina and dance fitness.
This fun class where modern music and moves are always part of the program is for ages 8-10. Boys are encouraged and already partake in these classes. The guidelines of ATOD Level 3 Hip Hop are utilized as well as a broad range of skill development combinations. A 45-minute once a week class will develop fitness and rhythm. No experience required.
The class extends upon the skills studied in the level 3 Kidz hop class. Ages of 10-12 are welcome and would enjoy this 45-minute once a week lesson. Modern music is used and the latest hip-hop moves are enjoyed by everyone.
Suitable for ages 11-13 years, this class is based on Level 5 Hip Hop ATOD studies. The class is varied and uses a variety of skill development activities such as footwork, arms combos and combinations. This once a week class is for 45 minutes.
Hip Hop dancers who want a bit more of a challenge will enjoy this class. Encompassing Levels 6 and 7 of the ATOD syllabus, examinations will be offered to those wanting to enter. The age group for this 45-minute class is 12-15 years.
This is a big work out for the experienced hip-hop dancer. Skills of Level 9 hip- hop are developed and students may take examinations at this level. Aimed at the age group of14+ this is a great class to get fit and have fun.
Level 10+ is studied in this advanced hip-hop class. Experience is required and examinations can be taken. The class builds stamina and fitness in a fun filled 45-minute class.
Developed for ages Year 2 and 3 at school, this class covers the basics of ballet and studies the Test 3 Ballet course of the ATOD syllabus. Year 2 students would require some understanding of basic ballet. The class is once per week for a half an hour
For ages of 9-11, this class studies the levels of Bronze in the ATOD syllabus. Students would benefit from some dance knowledge however beginners who are keen to learn are likely to cope with this level.
Attendance required is two lessons per week
Studies at this level are more complex and students work from 5th position of the feet and start more complex ballet combinations and terminology. The age group for this class is 11 & 12 years. Examinations are offered at this level.
This class is for students at the pre elementary /elementary level of ballet. This class is beginning pointe work and studying barre work, adage and allegro work. Aimed at the dancer aged 13-15 years. Examinations are offered at this level.
The Gold Bar ATOD or equivalent Elementary Intermediate Foundation is a requirement for study in this class. Three classes per week are offered to this level. The Intermediate level of ATOD classical ballet is studied and examinations offered.
This half hour a week class will be available for all students who are currently studying pointe work.
A beginning or introductory class for dancers who study classical ballet to become involved with contemporary dance, this class will be catering for the 11- 13 age group. The class will be once per week
This class will be available for current and past senior ballet students 14 and over. Studies in contemporary dance will involve the concepts and terminology of the genre. The class will be once per week.
This is a beginners tap class for ages 7-9 years. ATOD Test 1 and 2 Tap syllabus work will be studied. The class aims to develop musicality and rhythm and form a good basis for tapping skills.
Children with some tapping experience and aged 10-14 years would enjoy this class. Motivated beginners of this age would also find this class appropriate. The level of study is the Bronze Medal & Star ATOD tap syllabus.
This class is for tappers with experience aged between 13 and 15 years. The level of study is Gold Medal Tap ATOD tap syllabus. Examinations will be offered at this level.
This class is for the experienced tapper. Aimed at the Elementary Level of ATOD syllabus, it is a most enjoyable skill session for those who want a challenge. This is a once per week class.
A social dance class filled with fun and fitness activities. Aimed at adult dancers of all ages, this is a ballroom dance class with a difference. It does require each participant to have a partner and the partners will not be rotated. The dances of Jive, Cha Cha, Mambo, Salsa, Fox Trot and Waltz will be some of the work offered in a fun and up beat way. This is a ballroom class with a difference for those wishing to have some fun and get ready to 'move' on the dance floor. This class can be a casual paying class for the couple or based on a block of lessons.
This class will be amazing for fun, fitness and flexibility. With a combination of Zumba moves and stretching exercises it will be suitable to all age groups and levels of abilities. This is a casual paying class once per week
The social dance class where you can learn to Jive, Salsa, Foxtrot and Waltz with your partner AND never have to change partners. These classes will run in 6-week blocks. Suitable for all adults.
This unique style class is for the ‘bride and groom’ to be, wedding parties and even corporate events. Individual choreography can be organized and special lesson times arranged.
